Changlun or Changloon?
Changlun is a main border town in Kedah, Malaysia. It is located in the district of Kubang Pasu, about 50 km north from Alor Setar and 10 km near Bukit Kayu Hitam. The word "Changlun" originates from Thai (Chang Loon), whcih means "fallen elephant"
The construction of the North-South Expressway passing through Changlun has enabled the town to enjoy smooth development. The completed UUM-Kuala Perlis Highway helps to speed up developement in the town as well.
Changlun known as hub of higher education institution such as Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kolej Matrikulasi Kedah, Akademik Binaan Malaysia, Kolej Pertanian Malaysia and MARDI. Very near to Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Politeknik Tunku Syed Sirajuddin and Universiti Teknologi Mara.
